Winterfell

Castle · Seat of House stark

Ancient seat of the Kings of Winter, said to have stood for eight thousand years upon the bones of the First Men. Its godswood is older than the realm itself.

The Godswood

At the heart of Winterfell lies a godswood three acres across, never touched by axe since the day the First Men raised its walls. A heart tree of weirwood stands at its center, its face carved by hands now forgotten.

The Crypts

Beneath the castle, in caverns far older than the walls above, the Lords of Winterfell are laid to rest. Each in their stone seat, with their direwolf at their feet and a sword across their lap.
