A knight of Griffin's Roost and uncle to Jon Connington. He rode in the host that King Jaehaerys II sent to the Stepstones in 260 AC to break the last Blackfyre pretender, and there fell in single combat to a green sixteen-year-old squire named Barristan Selmy, who took his life and earned his white cloak in the same hour. The blow was felt at Griffin's Roost long after the war was done; Ser Barristan, whenever the matter was put to him, remembered Ser Armond only as a brave man on a bad day.
