Barba Bracken

Elder daughter of the Lord Bracken who served as Hand to Aegon IV, and the fifth of the king's nine mistresses. Met Prince Aegon as a girl of sixteen and held his favour for years thereafter, bearing him a bastard son, Aegor Rivers, the boy who would grow to be called Bittersteel. When Queen Naerys nearly died in childbirth a fortnight after Aegor's birth, Barba and her father began to speak openly of a Bracken queen, and the talk so alarmed Prince Aemon the Dragonknight that Barba was sent home in disgrace and replaced in the king's bed by Melissa Blackwood.
