King of Winter in the long age between the Builder and the bending of the knee, remembered chiefly for the breaking of the Night's King. When the thirteenth Lord Commander of the Night's Watch, who had taken a corpse-pale woman for his queen and offered up his black brothers to her in sacrifice, was named for thirteen years a god upon the Wall, it was Brandon Stark who marched the army of the north up to Castle Black and made common cause with Joramun, King-Beyond-the-Wall. Together the two kings shattered the Night's King's hold; his name was struck from every record at Winterfell and at the Wall, and he is called, even now, only by the title he stole.
