Maelys I Blackfyre (The Monstrous)

Grandson of Haegon I Blackfyre, last of the male line. Born with the half-formed head of his unborn twin growing out of his neck, he tore it free with his own hands in the cradle and grew up huge, brutal, and clever. He rose to Captain-General of the Golden Company by murdering his own cousin, then drew the Band of Nine about him and sailed for the Stepstones to seize a kingdom from which to launch the Fifth Blackfyre Rebellion. On the bloody steps of the islands Ser Barristan Selmy, then a young knight of nineteen, hewed both his heads from his shoulders, and with them ended the male line of House Blackfyre.
