Oberyn Martell (The Red Viper)

Younger brother of Prince Doran Martell, called the Red Viper for the poison he was said to put on every blade he carried. A warrior, scholar, traveller, and lover of women and men in equal measure, who fathered eight bastard daughters on as many mothers across the south and called every one of them his Sand Snake. He came to King's Landing in 300 AC seeking the murderers of his sister Elia and her children, and at Tyrion Lannister's trial-by-combat he met the Mountain at last in the trial-pit. He won the duel and lost his life: his poisoned spear took Ser Gregor through every part of him, but in the moment of his triumph the great man's gauntlet closed on Oberyn's skull and crushed it.
