Third of Lord Tytos Lannister's four sons by Jeyne Marbrand, called Tyg by his kin, a hot-tempered swordsman who chafed all his life beneath his elder brother Tywin's shadow yet showed a rare kindness to Tywin's misshapen second son Tyrion. Squired in the host that Tywin led against Houses Reyne and Tarbeck when their lords rose against Casterly Rock, and rode south with his brothers in 260 AC to the War of the Ninepenny Kings, where he slew his first man in his first battle and three more before the campaign closed, among them a knight of the Golden Company; at ten he was reckoned too young to win his spurs, though his courage and skill were widely remarked. Wed to Darlessa Marbrand, by whom he sired a single son, Tyrek, later squire to King Robert. When Tywin sought to install him as master-at-arms of the Red Keep, King Aerys named Ser Willem Darry to the post instead, one more slight in the long quarrel between Hand and king. Died of a pox in 282 AC, the same year that took his nephew Rhaegar at the Trident.
