Willam Stark

Second son of Lord Beron Stark, and Lord of Winterfell after the childless death of his elder brother Donnor. He wed first Lady Lyanne Glover of Deepwood Motte, who bore him a son Brandon and died young; and second Lady Melantha Blackwood, who bore him a son Edwyle and a daughter Jocelyn. In 226 AC the wildling Raymun Redbeard came south through the Frostfangs at the head of one of the largest free-folk hosts in centuries; Willam called his banners and met him on the shores of Long Lake. Lord Harmond Umber of the Last Hearth stood at his side. The battle was a hard, bloody draw at first, until Willam himself was felled in the press by Raymun's axe. His younger brother Artos took up the fight and slew the King-Beyond-the-Wall, and his son Edwyle took the lordship of Winterfell.
